Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, county, or other detail typed into a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider operating that tool. Union County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages Sent to Us
An email or contact-form message is retained as needed to read and answer it. Message content is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary server, security, and analytics systems may record basic technical details when a page loads. These records can include:
- The visitor's IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
- Date and time stamps
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may help measure site use and remember basic preferences. A visitor can block or remove cookies through browser settings, though some functions may then operate differently.
How Information Is Used
Collected information supports a limited set of operational purposes:
- Operating the site and improving response speed
- Sending a search request to the selected partner
- Understanding which pages visitors find useful
- Finding abuse, errors, and other technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Links Beyond This Site
Links lead to Union County records, South Carolina corrections pages, government portals, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use of data.
Advertising partners may also measure activity across websites to select ads. That activity occurs through the partners' systems, not as a Union County government function.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be provided to:
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure traffic
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads
- Law enforcement or another public authority responding to a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to reduce unauthorized access or misuse. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed secure, so this site cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may contact us to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the information actually held, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of their personal data
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete information that no longer needs to be retained
- Opt out of eligible forms of processing
